Among the galaxy's most fearsome species, Trandoshans are large, threatening
reptilians from the planet Trandosha (or Dosha). Trandoshans are
physically powerful, very difficult to injure, and capable of
recovering quickly from even the most serious injuries. Like many
reptiles, Trandoshans hatch from eggs and have thick, scaly skin. Their
three-fingered hands are armed with sharp claws, which can be deadly
weapons in combat. They also have supersensitive eyes that can see into
the infrared range.

Trandoshans live in a warlike society that honors hunting above all
else. In fact, Trandoshans worship a female deity known as the
Scorekeeper, who awards "jagannath points" to her followers based on
successful kills. The number of jagannath points a Trandoshan
accumulates supposedly determines his or her position in the afterlife.

Many Trandoshans channel their society's values into roles as bounty
hunters, soldiers, or rangers. A handful of the most violent and
immoral Trandoshans serve the Empire as slavers who target other
species, including Wookiees. But, Trandoshans are also independent and
may rebel against their culture. A scientifically-minded Trandoshan
might become a peaceful "hunter," working as a xenobiologist who merely
tracks and studies other creatures. Even on Dosha, Trandoshan society
relies on its own engineers, merchants, and even farmers.

Trandoshans are widely distrusted throughout the galaxy, in part
because of their frightening appearance. And, in fact, many Trandoshans
are gruff, unpredictable, and even dangerous. They rarely form
long-lasting emotional bonds, even with other Trandoshans, and may be
more likely to join forces with others for personal gain rather than
friendship. But those who have allied themselves with Trandoshans are
always impressed by the species' uncanny fortitude, unflagging resolve,
and unshakeable calm even in the face of certain death.

Trandoshans are strong and resilient, but slightly clumsy and not among the brightest characters in the game.

Regen & TKA info.

Here's some more regen info for those of you wondering.
I'm a Master TKA/ Master Commando and regen can be useful.
For example ... I will buff up, drink some brandy, eat some crape, use powerboost (TKA skill), and then (if it looks like it's gonna be a "tough crowd")I will use regen to topp off.
However, I think it can be even more useful once the buffs are gone. I can eat or drink to buff my mind, powerboost for my action stats, and then use regen for my constitution, etc.
Also, after a big battle, regen's useful while you're meditating and will help heal wounds and restore your health quicker, however I'd probably not waste a regen turn doing this (Unless, I was about to be attacked again).
The only thing that really bothers me about the regen is the "once per hour" limit.

ANY race that chooses to be a doc/tk is gonna kick butt. Being able to buff yourself, and leave the points in mind is a great plan. Trandoshans have bonuses to unarmed, so there is no reason not to be a tran-TK. I am working on one, that is TK and also a scout, and so I use the bonus to creature harvesting. Only bummer about Trandoshans is the low action, I filled up all 3 action bars to balance him out. So far, so good.

Also you can powerboost with meditate and boost your primary HAMs by 500. Sweet. The only thing I can't heal is BF.

I wouldn't make a transdoshan anything that uses weapons that take big action pool hits. They're action pool has low maximum values and you'll eat through it fast between dmg taken and special moves (if you use them). Unless you're going to be on neutron pixie continually, I'd say use weapons that use more health pool than the other two. Dosh get regen and have naturally large health pools which regen very fast (with default stats).

I think there is a BIG difference in choosing species. And I DONT think anyone should criticize someone for asking that question. If you are starting out a new char . . then it doesnt matter.
But I have been playing for quite a while, and now I wish I had selected human or rodian for my bounty hunter goals , since my trandoshan has bonus' for unarmed. If you plan on making your character the absolute best at what you want him/her to do. Then RACE is a HUGE deciding factor. And I submit again. . . even though any race can be anything. . they are NOT all equal when it comes to absolutely maxxing out your char's abilities. Some good thought and processing should be done before you choose your race. IE what do I want to do? what will I suceed at? What do I enjoy doing? am I unarmed or with a gun? etc.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BEST RACE FOR BEST PROFESSION!!! they are all equal. you could say trando is best at TKA because of bonuses. But zabrak get equalibrium and vitalize making them just as good. everyone is just as good as everyone else. besides i would say wookies arent as good because they cant wear armor and there HAM arent enough to make up for it. but just choose the race you like the most for looks. not for stats or skills. just migrate stats to fit your char.

My Trandoshan is a Master Commando and Master Medic. I've had great success with him since I migrated his stats, until I got them "tweaked".
It allows me to wear a very good set of enhanced composite armor. They are:

Health = 1000
Strength = 600
Constitution = 700
Action = 650
Quickness = 450
Stamina = 400
Mind = 770
Focus = 490
Willpower = 490

- Oh, and btw, someone said that being a Trandoshan Commando was a stupid idea because of the action penalties it takes.
In fact, it takes hardly any to use your flamer etc.

-Anyway, good luck.

OK, so I've been playing my Dosh character since just about launch, and here are a few observations.

Get your TKA. They are so good at unarmed that it's just silly not too. I figure you need one good distance skill, either rifle or carbine, and a good up close one, and for a Dosh it's an easy choice. I started my character thinking 2 handed pole arm would be the best up close choice, got all the way through novice pikeman with a cool vibro axe, and it is good. Problem is it's kinda slow and it misses a lot. I almost never miss with my dude unarmed, and throw in some nice vibro knuckles once you reach TKA novice, get them sliced, and throw a powerup on it and you are SO in business!

Now for the bad part of being a Dosh, mainly the action bar. Because of the low maxs on mind and action and their secondary abilities it cost a dosh a lot to do any special moves that are action based or any mind activies, like healing. But you can get around that with a little medical knowledge and a few health/stim packs. Some scout skills are also nice, they go well with the bonuses the doshes also get for creature harvesting, and you'll need the camps to heal up.

Either way, the dosh makes a mean fighting machine and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to have a great straight up fighter. If you want to be good at a lot of things, be a human, but if you want to just rock in battle, I don't know of any other race better than the doshes.

~Raf
Wanderhome

P.S. And I just figured out why the Doshes get all the unarmed bonuses... because they're the only race with claws on their hands and feet! :)

I'm a Master Teras Kasi, Ranger with Tracking 4, and it fits in nicely with the Trandoshan's bonuses. There's no reason to get anything else as a Ranger, and with a Master TKA's Meditate, you don't ever need the Novice Medic skill.

Therefore, you end up with 61 free Skill Points to do whatever with. You harvest as much from creatures from Master Rangers, and you save 43 Skill Points to boot. As a Master TKA, the rest of your bonuses fit in nicely.

61 Free Skill Points leftover, AND you're a Master TKA AND with the fastest speed as a Ranger! It's how to spend the 61 extra Skill Points that's the hardest part. =)

Hey all....

i'm a Trando Master marksman, Master Scout, Novice CH, Unarmed III, and working towards BH. I wear a set of chitin...(all but hands and feet).

Now that you know all of that...I spent all my time over the last few weeks soloing this character. Only recently did I start grouping. I could solo anything that wasn't red. You can regen once an hour or so, that with burst run you can tear stuff up.

Now that I'm guilded, and I group alot I notice more often then not, the only thing in my HAM that drops (HAM=heath, action, mind pools fo da n00bs) is my action...why? Becuz Trando's ROX !! I watch my teammates get pounded while I just blast away.

So those of you wanting and starting to play this toon hang in there. I'm very happy with this one and what I've been able to accomplish...I'll be a BH in a couple days now.

try and revolve your character around things that will boost ur max potential like wookies are really tuff the get good bonus on health and strength, so if ur going to go TKAmasta u should get things that make u faster heal faster like camps maby find a friend that is a medic or entertainer, also unless your on alot getting TKA is hard so i wouldent get pistoleer cause if ur a TKA ur not going to need to shoot it will be rather easy to eliminate targets fast with vibro knuckles ... it goes on and on... u dont have to listen to me u can make your own choices im just saying dont waste all ur stat points on nocice everything try and centralize on 2 or 3 things dont forget that u can buy things find smugglers to get items or splice them u can do money for missions even if there not worth as much as selling a 20,000$ droid. A good combo could be TKA and Medic or TKA And Master Ranger with that u also get all the scout stuff which has its rewards for a TKA

Trandoshan BH here on Flurry. Dunno who yer friend is or anything, but I would have to say he is wrong. I am very happy with my char. I have migtrated my stats several times to fit whatever I am working on at the time and I have not had any troubles. I currently have 1000 health and action, with 760 mind. My secondary Health stats are totally minimized (mainly because I have a decent chest piece and we get /regen), and my Action secondaries are all maxed. Mind secondaries are not quite maxed, but pretty close. I think that with ANY race, if you don't migrate yer stats to fit yer need at the time, you are selling yourself short.

And I think the guy who replied to your post is right, that guy you talked to is prolly upset that he went TKA and now he can't do anything without getting close to someone and wishes he could be a BH. But, he is right that Trandoshan's are good at unarmed.

In summary, I am a Trandoshan Bh and I love it. Go for it!

Man its never a waste of time per say, stat migrate if you need to. I am a tka/smuggler/artisan as a dosh. My success as a TKA only revolves around my wife playing a combat medic, its all the same game with all the characters. I have stat migrated to 1100health and dropped it evenly into mind and stamina. took some from my str and put it into action. You play your character, what works for you is figuring out what "works for you". He may be just jealous cause he spent all that time going TKA and now would like to be a bounty hunter, but doesn't want to sacrifice all those exp points to recover all thos skill points. Being a dosh bounty hunter is cool, matter fact dosh is just cool.

I recently got Teras Kasi Novic and I have noticed that after a fight when I meditate my action, health, and mind pools regenerate quicker. Just a helpfull hint.. One more hint when you fight it is better to just go Bazerk and fight normally than to use your special attacks.. I get more damage doing it this way than I did when I used my specials.. Another thing. Do not stand still when you fight.. move around.. your attacker has a lesser chance of hitting you while you are in motion.. They will hit you just not as hard as they would if you were to stand in front of them..

Last Night I got 214 Imperial Faction Points. So of course I went Covert Imperial. To my surprise, I could buy things from this recruiter, with faction points. There is alot of good things you can buy. But being Trandoshan, it will cost me double than a human. Now I am not saying , IM QUITING THE Trandoshan. But everyone be aware that if it cost a human 1000, it will cost you 2000, if you go Imperial. If you go Alliance, its 1 to 1, so 1000 for human, 1000 for you. Now I hope in the future when I start getting promotions, that this faction points will be just like humans. You really need to read the PVP section on this site about Imperial Perks.

Trandoshan cannot wear foot or hand armor, they can wear leg, arm, chest, & head armor. (same is applied to clothing)

However, right now no armor seems to be the way to go.

As stated, being currently a Teras Kasi Student, the biggest issue I have is slow regen rates on Action due to the lower cap on Action controlling stats that Trandoshan suffer from. Mind is low as well, I am concerned abou the head shots. My wookie friend could one shot me (Expert Rifleman and can hit for over 500 already on head shots) with a head shot (Trandoshan cap is 450 mind).

I am going Commando/Scout.
You got to get the Unarmed tiers, all of them.
You also have to get Master Marksman. The you can go Commando. I also grabbed Scout because of camps/speed/and creature parts to sell. So far I have 30k in bank just from Hides/Meat, not including Mission money.And when you try to get the unarmed tiers, there is no reason to spend money, so you will have a nice bank account once you master that tier.

Oh I sell 200 hides for 4k. and from what i seen thats cheap.

I wish I knew I couldnt wear Boots or Gloves before I made this Char ... I'm gonna get Trooper gear and have Big RED hands and legs sticking out of it .... gonna look stupid. There should be some Three Fingered gloves GDI! Other than that however I love my Dosh . Dont go making one a full fledged artisan ... but anything is possible i guess.Pistol,Unarmed and Scouting working well but i can Heal a little too. I might go for Combat Medic if the blue bar problem will let me.

I forgot to add to the list you cant wear any Human forms of helmets. No Sandman helmet, I WASTED 7500 cred on a Tandel Helmet ( cool looking assassin gear) But I CANT WEAR IT. So Ill hang around in my chiton armor until something else I can wear comes along.

When will they put a race acceptability tag on the damn items???? I want to turn in fps to get some Imperial gear ... bad enough I get screwed and pay double... but will I be able to wear it ???

ANYONE who know what trandoshans / non humans can and cant wear PLEASE post it somewhere . Im not buying another damn thing until i see another Dosh in it.

i posted over in the Bothan side as well .... toss up between bothan and trando for a Smuggler. Reason is i'd like to specialize in TKA as well. Trando obviously far better for this. But their species descrpition has them as untrusted throughout the galaxy.
I guess my question is wether or not these descriptions have any real influence on their performance. As a bothan is described as an excellent spy (smuggler).

Anyways ... your ideas ???

Exactly what I said to my friend when he asked what character I made... I forgot the name of the race, so I told him I made an Iksar Monk... like EQ I also have a reegneration bonus. I'm wielding a Vibro Knuckle which I call my Polished Steel Ulak...

Yay and stuff and stuff

Thanks for responding about how well the Master TKA, Master Pistoleer, and scout works. If you choose to go that way what kind of stats do you need? Mainly Action? I am not to sure about what I would need and any info you can give me is greatly appreciated.

You still have enough points to hit the Smuggler profession too. thats my plan anyways. (if opt for smuggler, you'll be one box short of master scout)
