You need to max out all of Marksman as well as Exploration IV from scout to have access to the Bounty Hunter profession. (I believe) That the requirements changed since this post was made, because alot of the guides that were written when the game was released indicate that you need all of the scout trees.

Can someone explain carbine speed. Someone told me that for every 10 speed it takes off .1 second on the attack speed for the gun. If this is true then It doesnt really seem like you will even be able to notice the difference with a slow gun like a carbine or a rifle.

That heavily depends on Ur playing style. IMHO Rifleman is the most powerfull class in PvP & pretty good in PvE. Ppl who said it doesn't worth it probably were not compatible with this class. I have to agree that for Rifleman some complimentary short range profession is close to be a must like Pistoleer, Brawler (2hand sword not TKA is recommended to continue hit Mind pool) or a pet or 4. But with HS3 & good Laser Rifle I have dropped Reb PCs in 1 shot quite a few times. MS2 is huge too & there is NOTHING those Combat Medics can do about it besides relax & enjoy. Rifleman probably will loose 9 out of 10 duels. But in a big fight when U have a bunch friendly PCs ahead of U shooting & taking enemy attention. 2-3 prone Riflemen R awfully devastating for enemy ranks

I am using a 37-467/6.0 Rifle with Headshot 2 cost being 100 mind power every single time. A 67-134/1.9 FWG Pistol with a special 13+ at point blank range. I used to have a 10k Nox's "Old Red Eyes" Carbine, only for 3 days, after the patch yesterday it disapeared, it was 92-182/2.4 with 12 action cost I believe. All these items were only 14k for the rifle, 3k for the pistol from bazaar and 11k for the Carbine.

I am a Trando with migrated stats and found that the easiest item to use is a Rifle, (Luckily mine is uber! Even for a while had a power-up from Braccus that did 39-568) I find that Trandos have very poor Action Management, I maxed them all on stat migrate and mind is still twice as efficent. Anyways, Id like to know if these items are decent, good or r0x0r :P

Id like any suggestions on improving these guns or saying they couldn't possibly get any better or whatever :-)

You don't gain more damage with the more accuracy you have, you get a better chance of hitting the target. If the target has more dodge points than your accuracy points than you miss more, and vice versa.

The difficulty rating depends upon what gear you have equipped. If you walk up to a mission terminal going bare handed as a marksman, you'll get missions that are around 4 or 5. But if you equip your rifle and look at new missions the difficulty will be up to 8 or 9. Also, I believe that if you go up and you're in a big group, you can get even higher difficulty.

I have found that if you just forget about the exp needed and go hunt/missions you will get your skill mastered twice as fast.

Worry about colecting armor and weapon upgrades, gather money and ipromise you the skill will be back there raising the whole time.

remove your weapon for easier missions. i remove everything just in case and it makes a huge difference. give it a try if your having problems.

Since you are killing everything in sight, pick up the scout skill and harvest every kill.

might as well use that resource to build skill while you are working on your marksmenship skills.

/loot;/pause 2;/harvest bone
/loot;/pause 2;/harvest hide
/loot;/pause 2;/harvest meat

make three macros and use these. click one each time you want to loot. you will gather scout exp and materials to make useful items.

stimpacks are made with organics which include meat harvested off of your non-humaniod kills.

i am 1k away from master pistoleer, and thinking about going smluggler first, then keep building weapons skills and going bounty hunter later.

that may change but its a fun plan so far.

I was thinking of making a smuggler/DE, any comments on this template would be appreciated.

Brawler with max unarmed(smuggler pre-req)

Marksman with full pistol and ranged weapon support(smuggler pre-req, and extra ranged and melee defense, alertness and accuracy.)

Smuggler with full slicing, dirty fighting, and spices. With first level of underworld.(I almost considered master smuggler, but unless someone can give a good reason for the underworld branch I don't think I should waste 9 more skill points on it.)

Artisan with full surveying, engineering, and domestic arts. With second level in business.(the pre-req for DE, with alot of nice clothes and armor options, the business is just sorta a last minute thing, to soak up the extra points.)

Master Droid engineer(I had to have at least one master class, and I always thought droid were cool, since the day I saw a lil mouse droid following a guy into a cantina.)

There, that uses all 250 skill points, and looks like it could be pretty fun, with enough offensive skills to keep me going when I get bored of crafting. As I said, any comments would be greatly appreciated, especially since I have only been in SW:G for a week.

Your best chance of getting good weapons is to start a relationship with a good weaponsmith. Weapons you see on the bazaar are never going to be top of the range, there either the left overs or second hand(not that there's anything wrong with them either). As you advance through your marksman training you'll want to upgrade weapons at every lvl, once your weaponsmith gets to know you you'll find that they'll keep the best for there regulars.
If your wanting to be a bounty hunter you'll need to advance pistol/carbine/rifle and change
at least 4 times, so it's well worth the effort.
Starting species doesn't matter, seriously, the species bonuses don't make that much difference.
Don't ask about Jedi, certianly not in the marksman forum, but mainly becasue no one knows yet(cool ha !).
Try everything, I'm having as much fun learning all the new stuff as I am adventuring, you can always relinqish your skills to take up others, credits are easy to come by and the experience will only enhance your fun.
Be excellent to everyone.

With Weaponsmith advancments new and better weapons are steadily making an appearance. But be wary. Look at all the stats of the weapons, Especially the Pool costs. I made the mistake of picking a sweet rifle that did awesome damage... but I didn't check the pool requirements. First combat I was doing Headshot 2 on a Swoop Leader... I glanced up at my stats and notice my mind pool is almost depleted.. I quickly cleared the special attacks before the weapon incapacitated me. I examined the weapon and discovered that the mind pool drain was 67. My mind pool points are just over 400 =\. Read both Marksman guides on this site for more info about choosing weapons and what all the stats mean.

I just got a DLT20 rifle and DH17 carbine last night. They are starting to appear in the bazaar as weaponsmiths progress. Give it a little time and keep your eyes peeled, you will see them. You might even switch to view the bazaar for the entire planet. You might have to make a trip to pick up your new gun, but it is worth it.

The problem is that most of these "beginner" guns that everyone is looking for require an advanced weaponsmith to make.
