Star Wars GalaxiesCongratulations Monika T'Sarn for Unlocking the Force Sensitive Slot!
Monika T'Sarn of the PA Combine on the Intrepid Server unlocked her FS today. Akinom T'Sarn (her FS character) is the first player confirmed JEDI INITIATE in all of Star Wars Galaxies. I had the pleasure of seeing her the day of the announcement an even greater pleasure to duel her.
So a HUGE congratulation to her on this most sought after accomplishment. Now onto the details I am sure you all are dying to know. Please realize Akinom was being literally pounded by questions so I kept it brief as possible....
What she did with her original character to unlock her Force Sensitive slot is as follows in her own words:
Here's what I did, from start to the end.
Human female artisan, starting in Bestine.
Master Medic
Master Creature handler
Pistoleer up to 2444
Dropped Creature handler, pistoleer
Master Marksman
Commando 0440
Doctor 4430
Got my first three holos from dark troopers in the naboo faction dungeon, 2 red 1 blue
First holo told me to master ranger. Dropped all medic+doctor, got master scout, master ranger.
Second holo told me master doctor. Dropped all scout, got master doctor.
Third holo told me master weapon smith. Did that.
Fourth holo was silent.
After the fourth holo I mastered artisan and brawler.
Other stuff:
Finished the rebel theme park, did some other rebel-related quests. Did the Jedi-quests on dantoine ( or dathomir, not sure, from the Jedi in the cave with the dark Jedi outside ?) Not much else in quests though.
Got the two monthly badges on the rebel side, no others.
Placed a house and declared residence, yesterday.
Was rebel colonel, the highest rank, for a long time.
The slot opening message came at the first mob she killed today on dathomir, a female picket longhorn.

Now in some Rapid fire follow up questions by the pistoleer correspondent Philosopher1976 and others the following information was gathered:
Additional information on what her main character has done:
She finished mastering her last profession 1 week ago.
She says that she has visited every town on every planet.
She was never married.
She never intentionally visited a static POI, she says.
She killed the piket maybe 10 minutes after she logged in. Before killing the piket she buffed herself and took a shuttle.
She placed and declared her first residence yesterday, her new Jedi character has access to the house.
She never sold goods from a vendor.
She says that the one type of mob/NPC that she never intentionally killed was Jawas.
As far as faction perks go, she has bought some armor, several NPCs, no buildings.
She has visited a battlefield, but not often. The battlefield was PvE.
She did none of the Hermit quests.
She never used the matchmaking feature, and her friends list was between 20-30 people.
She did not do the Endor Maurauder quest ... she only did Rebel-related quests, the theme park, plus some quests on Tattoine and Corellia.
She never looted any force crystals or force-related items, aside from this petrified egg that she looted.
Information on her New Jedi:
She started with a mineral survey kit, a chemical survey kit, brawler newbie clothing, and a generic crafting tool. She had to make a lightsaber crafting tool, then make a crystal, then make a saber.
She says that making the second saber is buggy and does not accept her newbie saber as an ingredient.
Here are the stats on her lightsaber, according to her:
Training, Light Sabre
AP rating Medium, Damage type Kinetic, 94-189 damage 1.4 speed and HAM cost of 5/5/5
Her Jedi has the same HAM as the rest of us.
She is not TEFed unless she USES A SPECIAL, so she can walk around town freely otherwise. She was dueling people and could not be attacked because she was just using the default auto attack.
Based on a quick scan of the combat spam she was hitting between 45-60 PVP per hit with the default attack, which corresponds with the current equation we already know (1.5 damage modifier, divided by 4 for PvP).
There are two different types of XP on the skill tree ... lightsaber XP and Jedi XP.
She gets the lightsaber XP from killing things with the saber (obviously). She said that the "Jedi XP" works like Combat XP does.
I asked her how she trained her first skill ... she said that there is a trainer (not a Holocron) that she gets the skill from. The trainer is in Wayfar. The Jedi trainer is disguised as an artisan trainer.
She can group and fight with other players, sharing the XP with them.
She can also be healed by non-Jedi.
So a HUGE congratulation to her on this most sought after accomplishment. Now onto the details I am sure you all are dying to know. Please realize Akinom was being literally pounded by questions so I kept it brief as possible....Tags: News, StarWarsGalaxies

how do you get the holocrons
Personally, I think this is a really dumb method. I would like to be able to take advantage of wut things were like... not getting TEF from just attacking... no specials.
/sigh
Oh well. I guess I'll post the stats on my saber then.
5th Generation Jedi Saber
1388-1999 3.3 speed
Medium Armor Piercing
Blue Blade
With the attack mods I get from the mastered saber column, I still swing this saber at about 1.0 speed, and I hit for about 2500 or so damage per hit with a normal attack. I've topped about 4.4k damage on unarmored foes.
shes a dev's in-game char, or a friend of a dev :)
Secondly i'd like to tell all the Bounty Hunters out there that i have infact killed a jedi, but i did it by spamming eyeshot, using torso shot, and running away. It is possible but is by no means easy. My friend finally unlocked his Force Sensitive Slot and i have seen for myself the strength of some of the lightsabers that can be crafted, basically a skilled jedi can kill someone with one attack in PvP. So everyone that is lying through their teeth - no one cares :)
Lastly, if there ARE any Jedi out here i suggest you stop posting on forums and find a better way of getting together, this simply attracts unwanted attention - perhaps some of these Jedi ARE just idiots running around in a Galaxy hostile towards their existance. Stop the hate, and if you want to be a tough guy - join Force Recon, then i guarantee you wouldnt be on a forum typing jealous threads through your tear-covered eyeglasses...
HONESTLY IF YOU DONT LIKE THE GAME DONT SPOIL IT FOR OTHERS, GO WORK AND MAKE MONEY AND GET WOMEN TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT - SOME OF US ARE PAID ENOUGH TO AFFORD TO PLAY THIS GAME WITHOUT ACTUAL LOSS OF PAY :)
Teras Kasi Owns Everything BTW, and is the only class that can truly fight a jedi, given they have master pistoleer/TKM and enough buffs and muon to last in a battle...
Good Luck Holo-Hunters, and the hidden slot isnt as hidden as you think, most people dont master over 6 professions before they unlock their FSS.
Goodnight and May The Force Be With Some Of You LOL

Second, Her path to Jedi will not work for anyone else, When you created your character your path to Jedi was pre-destined, so stop running around spamming WTB Master Scout Holocron because there is first no way for someone to know what the holocron says unless they use it and I could have a holo not use it, swap it for another holo, and it will tell me the same thing the holo I had before would have told me.
For all you people complaining about working to much to become a jedi and upset, sorry to you all for having a real life but get over it, im glad the jedi profession is so hard to get, I dont want 1k jedi running around on my server, I dont want Guilds full of jedi, totally turning Faction based PVP into slaughter fests.
Also, professions in this game are FAR easier to master than any other MMORPG I have ever played, A few days into this game you can be fighting creatures/npc of lvls you could only dream of even glancing at in games like Everquest.
SWG is still in its buggy stages as far as MMORPG go but they hit the nail on the head for me, I was sick of spending a year lvling up characters just to be strong enough to ATTEMPT a quest to get a key to a dungeon or even NEVER being able to get a key because you need Raid sized forces of players as strong as you and then Pray the raid was successful.
It just amazes me that there are so many jealous Jedi Bashers, you should be THANKFUL that SWG developers didn't lock you down in this game like every other MMORPG does Forcing you to stick with the toon you made, in the profession you started with, Never having anything to look forward to and they also add content at a decent rate and don't stick you with a $30 - $40 expansion just to add player mounts and vehicles.
In closing, this is not Jedi Knight this is Star Wars Galaxies, if you wanna be a jedi that bad, stop playing MMORPG and go play Jedi specific games, this is a World based game, needing Players of ALL professions to succeed, Not just jedi.

and good luck in your nxt........Thing
Good luck on the path to to become a Jedi, you'll need it. Just remember what Yoda said, "Try not, Do or do not, There is no try."
You can do anything you set your mind to. Never give up.
Dear BH's,
You BH's are wrong in your assumption that you can "whoop" a Jedi. You are sadly mistaken. Don't get me wrong, I love the BH profession (God knows I do). Even in their lowest state, (Jedi Initiate) a Jedi is more than a match for any BH. Stop posting the so-called "Any BH's handy? Let's go kill all of the Jedi!" posts please. What you are saying makes you look like jackasses, and people will think less of you.
Trust me. Take my advice. And if you are only hunting down Jedi for the money, by all means do it. Just good luck in even attempting to hit them, let alone kill them.
Good luck hunting,
Xailx, Tempest
Good luck unlocking your FSCS. You will need it. Try to get all 5 holocrons before you master any profession. That way, you can open them as you go. Try your best and never give up.
Dear Bounty Hunters,
Any of you Bounty Hunters who think you can easily kill any Jedi are sadly mistaken. Even when they are initiates they are more than a match for you. Not that I don't love BH(God knows I do), but it's a futile and foolish effort to challenge a Jedi. My last words are: Stop threatening to "Try" to wipe out all of the Jedi. It makes you sound like a bunch of jackasses, and doesn't do very well for your fellow players' images of you. Good Luck.
-Xailx, Tempest
I'm looking forward to killing as many jedi as I can. No offense, just playing the game; and in character might I add.
For those who do get it congratulations, it takes blind luck and a lot of crunching. These whiney pissants who are complaining and slandering are only 12 and full of teen angst because Linkin Park tells them to!
According to the Sith code there can only be two Sith at any given time (after the Sith Wars, of course): a master and an apprentice and seeing as how this takes place in the Galactic Civil War, Vader and the Emperor play those roles.
Congrats to all Jedi and goodluck to all hopefuls
By the way... Yes the FSCS is a tough goal to reach, but it's fun along the way.

Ya grats to the new "Jedi" for stumbling into her FSS with stupid blind luck. Look at her path to the Jedi - then forget it because it won't work for you. I think SOE has a completely random system that requires an absurd amount of game time to qualify for a miniscule chance to have the force sensitive slot open. For the vast majority of you who want a logical system for becoming a Jedi, you will be disappointed. You can put in even more game time than the First Jedi and probably will never have access to your force sensitive slot.
Simple really. Not much point whinin about it though.
BoBa FeTT 4 LyFE =P
One solid way to get jedi for those whom care is to master every profession and get enough exp to relearn that profession 3 times, once thats done drop that profession and learn them all then start over again, do this until your our of exp and you should have fulfilled your path.
